Bio
Born in Brooklyn NY, Jessica is celebrating
her seventh year residing in Los Angeles. This is her debut
directing on the Los Angeles stage after assisting in several
productions including Dorothy Lyman’s one woman show My Kitchen Wars.
Her first success at directing occurred at the age of eleven when she
convinced her elementary school principle to shut down for two
afternoons and have the school attend her rendition of Bye Bye Birdie.
In later years Jessica went on to direct the Neil Simon Trilogy of
Brighton Beach Memoirs, Broadway Bound and Biloxi Blues. Steering away
from what felt familiar, she went on to direct Dog Opera by Constance
Congdon for which she won an award from the state of West Virginia for
AIDS awareness. Continuing on the path of social consciousness Jessica
successfully brought to the stage Paula Vogel’s How I Learned to Drive.
Over the years she has tackled playwrights from Durang to Stoppard.
Jessica received her BFA from WVU from which she graduated with honors.
She also holds a certificate in Shakespearean Studies from Oxford
University in England. She stands as the current artistic director of
The MagnaCarta Theater Company and proudly works at the Music Center for
the Arts in downtown Los Angeles.
