It
is December 26, and for the residents of a Washington, DC row-house, "December
Imbalance" is the state of heart and mind that plagues each of them as they
grapple with what

they didn't get out of the passing year and what they
want from the year quickly approaching.
MEL paces the house in the middle of the night, awaiting news from her scoundrel
boyfriend who she believes is observing elections in South America.
ALBERT chews his nails over a career that is winding down like the year
itself.
HANNAH doesn't know what she wants or even why the question should matter.
XAVIER is preparing to go home to Latvia, and still cannot articulate his
feelings enough for anyone to take him seriously.
Into all their lives comes TRU, the most sincere, positive person ever known
to humankind. He is everything and anything they want him to be--friend,
confidante, lover. He also happens to be the source of love and inspiration
for LENA, a child of old money who is determined to hold on to him at any
cost.
In the wonderful time of the year, when the dreamy, wishful days of wondering,
'Gee what do I want' are upset by a new, unsettling mantra: "Omigod! What
the hell do I want!", TRU will bring to everyone the balance they are scrambling
to find, or make a complete and utter mess of their lives.
DECEMBER IMBALANCE is a wickedly funny, sexy ensemble piece by New York
playwright HOWARD MARC SOLOMON. It is about the confusing, desperate days
experienced and endured whenever December collides into January.
