MAGNACARTA THEATRE COMPANY PROUDLY PRESENTS ITS 2006 FUNDRAISING EVENT – from the producers of 2005’s critically acclaimed Los Angeles production of Donald Margulies’ Collected Stories and other critically acclaimed productions.

The company that brought you one of LA Weekly’s favorite shows in 2005 proudly presents (Un)Hidden Agendas – eight scenes exposed, a selection of theatrical excerpts about what we need and how much we will reveal to get it.  Featuring selections from award winning playwrights and an ensemble of sixteen actors,

(Un)Hidden Agendas explores the universal theme of how we look to our relationships with others to fill our own needs.

With scenes that highlight the familiar nuances of family ties, romantic partnerships, and newly formed bonds, (Un)Hidden Agendas gives us sneak peeks into private conversations and emotional struggles, unveiling what is said and what is not said in the pursuit of getting what we want.  Great need can create great gaps, and bridging the two requires monumental efforts of communication, a recognizable challenge that we all face.

In presenting a sampling of old and new works in varied theatrical styles, MagnaCarta Theatre Company promises to take our audience on a journey through love, heartbreak, reality, dreams, and laughter.  Accompanied by a post show reception each night, MagnaCarta’s evening of theatre will engage everyone from theatre neophytes to veteran theatergoers.  The event is co-directed by Jayne Taini and Ben Hedge.

Jayne Taini is the co-director of (Un)Hidden Agendas and is also featured in the production.  She is a veteran stage actor who has performed extensively on regional, national, and international stages.  Most recent television roles include Boston Legal, The Practice, ER, and The Brotherhood of Poland, NH, NYPD Blue, Without a Trace, LOST, NUMB3RS, and 6 Feet Under.  She will soon be seen in the feature film The Moguls starring Jeff Bridges.  Jayne gave a “glorious performance” in last year’s MagnaCarta production of Collected Stories as told by the LA Weekly.

Ben Hedge is the co-director of (Un)Hidden Agendas and is a member of MagnaCarta Theatre Company.  Ben received his GCSE in drama as well as his Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from Illinois State University .  Ben has been a part of MagnaCarta’s 2005 production of Collected Stories, The Seagull, A Few Good Men, Death and the King’s Horsemen, The Man Who Came to Dinner, The Matchmaker, The Importance of Being Earnest, Oklahoma , and Don’t Dress for Dinner.  Ben is currently serving as the resident Production Manager for MagnaCarta Theatre Company.

(Un)Hidden Agendas runs for three performances only August 24th, 25th, and 26th beginning at 8:00 pm each night and plays at the Deaf West Theatre*, located at 5112 Lankershim Blvd., in North Hollywood , CA .  Tickets are $18.00.
